The Pikaashihu Bridge is a steel-wood bridge that crosses the Opinaca River in Rouyn-Noranda. It has three lanes and it spans 90.8 m. The abutments are built with steel boxes, filled with rubbles, sitting on drilled piles. The piers sit on drilled piles extending up to the crosshead. For the construction, B.E.S. proposed a non-conventional construction method whereby the bridge was assembled on shore before being pushed into place on rollers. This resulted in a savings of approximately one million dollars.
